The Cry Of The Lost Soul - Poem by Emil J. Wills
A sudden awakening
I do not know my name
Wondering what the day will bring
Will it end as it came?
How far have I travelled?
To meet someone who knows my name
Do I have a family and friends?
Must I suffer with anguish and pain.
I'm trying to find a reason behind all this
Is there someone looking for me, wife or friend?
Did I have a business
And lost it in the end?
For all the people I stop to ask
Tell me, do you know my name
The men just shake their heads
The anger returns and so does the pain.
What makes people so cruel to a man
Town after town, villages of all kinds
How long must I travel to meet a friend
There's no answer to anything I find.
