The Curse Known As Love Poem by Nicholas Schumacher

The Curse Known As Love

Goodbye, My Rose
My sweet and beautiful
Flower of delight

You sprung the seed of Love
Upon my fertile heart
Where it blossomed into something wonderful

For a while
My heart was full of bliss
Twisting with everlasting love

But love, that curse...
Seems never meant to stay
And eventually slips away...

You now prick me with your thorns
And tears rain down my face
As I watch our love whither
Into the ground of broken tears

Though I never shall see your petals again
You shall always remain
That sweet and beautiful Rose
In the garden that is my mind
