The Curse Of My Life Poem by M.J. Henderson

The Curse Of My Life

I use to have life,
Before the lilies stoped blowing,
And the curse hadn’t taken over me.
Now the life has been sucked out of me.

When the lilies blow all around,
And life was curse less,
My life was perfect,
Misable, but perfect.

I could run through the lilies,
And the curse never caught me.
The scent of the lilies were overpowering,
They would take me to another plant.

Then the curse came.
It took me by surprise,
And killed me it did.
I didn’t even try to fight.

As I laded there I started to think,
About every little detail of my life.
The good and the bad.
Then finally, I started to fight back.

I began to crawl,
Then I stood up.
The curse had taken my life,
But not my heart and soul.

I never wanted to give in,
I had been hiding for too long,
And it was time to stop hiding,
I needed to bet this.

Then I remembered what I had realised,
As I laded there defeated, so long ago.
The curse was my friend,
It came along to refresh my life.

It hadn’t sucked the life out of me,
It hadn’t defeated me,
I had done that.
Now it was time to live again.
