The Cursor Poem by BASAB CHAUDHURI

The Cursor

I watch the cursor, it watches me -
Nothing worthwhile comes to mind
My fingers still move upon the keyboard
A search into the well for words continues.
Yesterday I heard a bird singing
Long after the bell is still ringing
I do not know whether there's meaning
May have some tomorrow evening.

You and I were together
We are together still
Now you give me water
And I give you a pill.

We were, and we are here -
Care, premonition, a little fear.
