The Dance Of Deadly And Heavenly: Part Iii Poem by Lilith Van'Nightinveil

The Dance Of Deadly And Heavenly: Part Iii

Lust and Chastity

In the dim-lit ballroom, Lust twirls with abandon,
Her eyes aflame, desire etched upon her skin.
Chastity, her counterpart, stands poised,
A quiet strength in her gaze, purity within.

Lust whispers secrets of longing and fire,
Chastity listens, her touch a soothing balm.
Together, they sway—a delicate balance,
For passion unbridled can consume, harm.

(Gluttony and Temperance)

Gluttony feasts on life's excesses,
Gulping down pleasure, insatiable hunger.
Temperance, serene and measured,
Sips from life's cup, never torn asunder.

They waltz—a dance of feast and famine,
Gluttony's laughter echoing through the hall.
Temperance guides, her hand steady,
Balancing indulgence with restraint's call.

(Greed and Charity)

Greed, adorned in jewels and silk,
Counts fortunes, hoarding treasures untold.
Charity, humble in threadbare robes,
Offers her heart, her kindness, her gold.

They spin—a paradox of want and need,
Greed's fingers clutching, insatiable thirst.
Charity's smile, a beacon of compassion,
Balancing wealth with love, quenching the worst.

(Sloth and Diligence)

Sloth lounges in shadows, limbs heavy,
Dreams half-formed, ambition dulled.
Diligence, eyes bright with purpose,
Carves paths, fuels fires, tirelessly pulled.

They glide—a dance of inertia and motion,
Sloth's yawns met by Diligence's stride.
Together, they birth creation and progress,
Balancing rest with the relentless tide.

(Wrath and Patience)

Wrath, a tempest of fury and flame,
Fists clenched, storms brewing within.
Patience, serene as morning dew,
Breathes calm, unravels anger's sin.

They sway—a dance of thunder and rain,
Wrath's lightning striking, fierce and wild.
Patience's touch, a healing balm,
Balancing rage with serenity, reconciled.

(Envy and Kindness)

Envy, green-eyed and twisted,
Longs for what others possess.
Kindness, a gentle hand extended,
Shares freely, heals hearts in distress.

They twirl—a dance of longing and grace,
Envy's sighs met by Kindness's embrace.
Together, they mend broken mirrors,
Balancing wants with love's tender space.

(Pride and Humility)

Pride, head held high, a regal stance,
Boasts of achievements, towers tall.
Humility, eyes lowered, feet on earth,
Knows greatness lies in the heart's small.

They pirouette—a dance of ego and grace,
Pride's armor clashing with Humility's bow.
Together, they sculpt humanity's soul,
Balancing strength with the wisdom to bow.

And so, dear audience, witness this cosmic ballet—
The Seven Sins and Seven Virtues entwined,
Their dance echoing through eternity,
A symphony of shadows and light forever aligned.

For in their union lies our fragile existence,
The delicate equilibrium of human souls,
And as they sway, we learn—the dance persists,
Balancing darkness and radiance, making us whole.
