The Daring Door Poem by William B. Petricko

The Daring Door

He never knew it was a cage
Until an unintended glance
Revealed a gate left open wide
And dared his fear to take a chance.

But no adventure lures him forth
Although the doorway stands ajar
The jailer knows it matters not
For captives never wander far.
