You don't see light
even when it's day.
Your eyes don't sparkle
even when the sun shines in them.
You don't laugh
even if you're known for being happy.
You don't smile
even at the happiest times.

You can't see anything good
even if you're looking right at it
and it's smiling back at you.
You can't feel the care
even if it's embracing you
saying they'll be there forever.
You can't hear the love
even if there are people saying
they love you with all their heart.

You feel alone
when you're surrounded by friends.
You feel hopeless
when people say you can get through it.
You feel unwanted
when people want to be with you.

You sit in the dark
that no one can see
except you.
