The Dark Side Of The Backyard Poem by Robert Sheridan

The Dark Side Of The Backyard

Rusty nails on the deck
Spiders hanging from rafters
Bees buzzing your head
Racoons with parasites
Rabid dogs and rabid cats
Mosquitoes with viruses
Mounting paranoia
Nasty infected birds
Public health threat
Poison ivy, poison oak
Fever, headache, rash
Bare feet - fire ants
Deer ticks - Lyme Disease
Pollen blowing in the breeze
City dwellers shortcut
Clothes/clothes-line - bird poop
Grass-cutting - joint pain/fatigue
'I've got blisters on my fingers'
Foxes, skunks, poisonous snakes
Stepped-on rake right in the face
Corkscrew bacteria - oh, my!
Time for a vacation - bulls-eye!

Makes you just want to hide inside...humorous and somewhat scary...never been much for the great outdoors just for these reasons...nice job...Coach
