The Darkest Hour Poem by Aaryan Irani

The Darkest Hour

Rating: 5.0

A boy once,
walks through the meadows
the melancholic sky
stretches over the horizon
his small house across the fields,
was dark,
waiting for its master as it does always
Luinous orbs flash above his head
and the silver moon reveals itself
he looks behind, full of fear
just when his thoughts strike him near
'oh God, remember? ', said he
'when you used to walk by my side,
holding my hand
our fields full of orange and wheat
and the anemones which would smile under my feet
when the sun and the azure sky
would tempt the birds to sing and fly
when our footsteps were seen together
around the yew tree nether
where are you now,
at this dark time,
I cannot see you now, nor your footsteps
Where are you, at my darkest hours,
when you said I could reach the stars? '
and God replied,
'son, when you didn't see my by your side,
nor my footsteps by yours,
at this darkest hour,
I am carrying you on my shoulders
The moon and the stars are guiding you
The darkness is strengthening you
The trees(/ yews) are waiting for dawn,
and so is your destiny
When you aim for the moon,
and miss it, worry not,
For you will land on the stars'
