The Darkness Poem by M.J. Henderson

The Darkness

Darkness spills all around.
I was looking’ around,
And all I see is darkness.
Because of you,
I find it hard to trust,
Not only me but,
Everyone around me.
Because of you I am afraid.
Afraid to find the light,
And break away.
To mend my broken wings,
To spread them and to learn how to fly.
And fly till I touch the sky.

I need to make a wish,
Take a chance,
Make a change,
And break away from the darkness.
Out of the darkness and into the light,
But something is stoping me from moving out from the darkness.

This darkness is holding on to me,
Like a mother hangs on to her new born baby.
So the darkness clings to me,
And darkness will always spill around me.
And there’s nothing i can do to un-cling the darkness.
