The Day Of Reckoning Poem by Winnie Akinyi

The Day Of Reckoning

When the earth in flames shall melt away
When the night would never turn to day
When silver and gold shall all decay
I know I'll not be there!

When the strong shall fall and none to help
When the rich shall be as mean as kelp
When the valiant shall even forget his whelp
God knows I'll not be there!

When stones shall fall like rains from heaven
And plagues on all the earth be given
When souls from all the earth be driven
God forbid! I'd ne'er be there!

When the pure in heart shall go above
And sing to God their joys and love
Would you be amongst the sweet belov'd?
Or would you still be here?
