The Day That I Grow Old Poem by Marion Perrotta

The Day That I Grow Old

Rating: 5.0

If I should need direction on the path that will I walk
If I should aimlessly wander off the subject when I talk;
Secure me and assure me that all is well and stable
For to carry on without your love, I know I'd be unable

Be my eyes and guide my steps when time does take its toll;
No fear no shame and no regrets
The day that I grow old

I'll look to you to feed my hunger
and for me you will speak;
Reminding me when we were younger
...before my memory became oblique...

In your eyes I'll seek consent, approval and permission;
to talk about the years that went, with no trace of contrition

Thanks to you I'll never be among the lost and lonely;
With you by my side
to love and to guide
and be my one and only
