The day that we met
I knew we’d be friends;
Your playful nature
Made me warm to you.
Then I looked into your eyes.
Right from the first
We played and had fun,
Put the world to rights,
Shared a rhyme or two.
Then you held out your hand to me.
From the very start
You gave me your time,
I tried to be helpful,
You gave inspiration.
Then we held each other close.
From that first hello
I showed my concern,
You seemed to understand,
I made you laugh.
Then I kissed you on your lips.
And when I looked into your eyes
And you gave your hand to me,
When we held each other close
And I kissed you on your lips
Then we had to admit
What we had known from the start.
