The Day When I Was Sad Poem by Kezia Kezia

I was very sad

The day when I did not get the food of my choice

Then I saw the poor hungry children

Fighting for a piece of bread

Which they had picked from heap of garbage

I became very happy

O my Lord

I got enough food to feed my whole family

To fill my belly

No matters, it is course or jelly

I was very sad that day

When I did not get matching watch for my attire

Then I saw the lady shivering with cold

Without proper clothes

O my Lord

I became very happy

I had a proper attire to save myself from severe cold

No matters a watch is here or not

My best time was with me

I was very sad

The day when I thought my house was so small

Then I saw some shelterless people under open sky

Searching a safe corner to protect their young ones

from heavy storm and rain

now realized I was always in gain

o my lord

I was very depressed that I am not beautiful

Then I saw a blind person walking by my side

I was very happy

That I possess a healthy complete body

o my lord

countless thanks may not be enough

for whatever I am blessed with.
