The Days Of Innocence Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

The Days Of Innocence

Rating: 5.0

When my brain was a virgin
I knew next to nothing
I thought like a kid
Played like a kid
Cried like a kid
Laughed like a kid
Danced like a kid
Fed like a kid
And had no worries
Except the little things of a kid

Now I am knowledgeable
And pride myself as wise
I know many things
Both the good and the bad
I hear many things
Both the good and the bad
I see many things
Both the good and the bad
I say many things
Both the good and the bad
I do many things
Both the good and the bad
I go to many places
Both the good and the bad
I meet many people
Both the good and the bad

The truth truly is
The brain is disvirgined
The mind is corrupted
And the innocence is gone
From all I know
From all I hear
From all I see
From all I say
From all I do
From where I go
From the people I meet
And I crave for my virgin brain
The days of knowing little
The days of simple life
The days of my innocence
