The Dead Man Poem by Ebenezer Ampadu

The Dead Man

Sticky as obsession
Fazed by nothing
Full on the feathered one's jewels
And pearls of the green tree too
Mimic is a monkey

The glowing sun warms better, a few steps away
The death bed beyond, is wrapped in gold
Like a condor, climb the sky
If discovered by the giants
Remember, paths are many
Does a rat dig?
Have a date below

Up! Life is lived!
Without a care in the world
Treated like an ass
Kicked with steel boots
Still Unfazed!
The bread is baked
Care as the dead care

Trouble on the back like a tortoise's shell
Change, you are forbidden
Bind and give joy
Misery is home
Only in the new bed
The hound hears the master's call
The wary hare fidgets
Darkness warms as a blanket in winter
Death stands guard

Shabby bed, disappear!
No turning back
That's an ingrate!
Who cares?
Obsessed with the snow
Flight saves a soul
No time to flee!
A date in the soil
But, why wear a stone?

Because —— I am a dead man!
