The Dead Sea Light Poem by Angela Mayor

The Dead Sea Light

Through chipped stones, murmured names, trembled and quite found its place
we are ghouls as you san see but we have been bathed by the light and are now set free

The forest is naked, the night is cold
the gloomy wind that moans
there is not enough breeze in the air
to straighten out the ringlet curls
there is not enough wind to spin

One last in the clan, the one lonely blue leaf
that dances as oft as it can be
hanging so high and with such lightness on the branch
with the highest point that facing in the sky.

Time has stopped.
My muscles are in uproar.
My memories defaulted while my mind shut down.
My friend, your time is up.
You will only see a synthetic rainbow.
