Why does Death take one so young
Why does Death so suddenly choose
The hopeful girl to lose?
Does Death not see the wickedly rotten?
A misguided fool claims his title
All his praise misbegotten!
Why does death not darken his doorstep?
Suck the life from his cavity!
Release his grip on this earth
Send him flying, no more gravity!
How does Death reconcile leaving evil in place
And taking the one with so much grace?
Violence rages across his face
Within seconds a deadly shadow
Death creates a massacre to discover
Leaving us speechless, searching
Crying, pleading, falling, lurching
While he still laughs and dreams
All we have left are silent screams
