The Death Of Happy Birthday - Poem by Bill Grace

I would never have guessed its' death
A friend mentioning the demise at dinner
Suddenly the inane sounds in restaurants
Make great sense with blinders off
And as is almost always the case
Registers are involved to a not so happy jingle.
