The Deceptionist Poem by Dave Dunn

The Deceptionist

How many lies did she tell you
to gain a place in your heart?
Did she play you like all the others
sometimes it doesnt help you being smart

False love arrow shafts pierce most armour
be it made from the hardest of steel
And the mind succumbs to the music
of heart strings plucked with such zeal

Ponder upon her long list of lovers
many of whom discovered her gone
Long before she said any goodbyes
tell me will she stay with you very long

Make haste to render your heart hard
to avoid the gravest aches of all
Be ready for when that phone rings
and avoid the deceptionists call......
