The Departed Poem by Jacy Anderson

The Departed

The peaceful melody,
ringing through the halls,
as the church bell crys its mourningful cry,
tears splashing against the pavement,
like sorrowful waves,
crashing against the isolated shore,
sun high,
like a bird,
soaring gracefully through the sky,
as crys ring out,
for thou' faithful departed,
as hands reach for the heavens,
retreating like a solidier in a useless battle,
one that continues to torment this beautiful universe
and the restless souls,
aching from the treachery of war.

(For Thou' Faithful Departed)
