The Departure Poem by Vinod Vijayakumar

The Departure

Wheels roll on

as the engine whistles,

green is lit on,

for the journey to move on.

Hands free the windows

that gave way for the talk.

Legs walk as much as it can,

Take care bye bye are the words that span.

Eyes focus the dears,

as hands wave at them.

Many try to hide the tears

but some flow out them.

The train speeds up and

All see others do the same!

A brief sadness yet beautiful is put up,

In both the hearts that wave.

Children leaving Parents

Parents leaving children

friends leaving friends

Spouse leaving spouse.

The platform sees this a thousand times,

yet it can't show pity,

Only can it lend space to stand,

Till the train goes to infinity.
