The Difficulty With Destiny Poem by Fired Heart

The Difficulty With Destiny

A life time of regrets and a few short seconds of happiness
But I wouldn’t change a thing.
I believe in fate and I believe in destiny,
So everything that has ever happened
I believe was meant to be.

Why waste time pining over the past?
There are so many adventures out there
Ahead of you waiting to be grasped;
But if you live in time that doesn’t exist anymore
You can become bitter and angry about things you lost;
But they were never meant to last.

Sometimes life can be hard and hurting
And sometimes it can be scary and confusing.
Do you ever get that sinking feeling in your stomach
When you worry life doesn’t have a meaning?

Maybe there isn’t a meaning and all you can do is live it.
You can do anything you want
If you only believe you can do it.
This world has no limits.

Every tear you cry, whether it is happy or sad,
Does not mean you are weak
And it doesn’t mean you don’t understand.

A heart can hold many secrets that never get shared.
Your heart is what keeps you alive
And eventually it stops beating when you die,
But until then it beats on and on and on
No matter how hard things become.
Sometimes when a heart breaks it may never mend;
And even though it carries on beating its life has gone.

If you feel like your heart needs to be repaired
A smile from inside is the first step you need to take
Down the path towards making it better again.
I’ve had my heart shattered and torn,
But I know I am not alone.

The real strong people in this world
Are not the ones who go out looking to fight,
And they are not the power hungry men who cause war.
The real strong people are those who suffer with broken hearts
Who have to struggle everyday to keep them right.

Every time I look at my beautiful child
I can’t believe he is mine.
He saved me in every way I needed to be saved
And I hope one day he will look at me
With knowing eyes
And tell me what I have done is right.

I don’t know where my life will lead and I don’t want to know.
I will get to where I need to go-
And that’s the only thing I will ever know.
