The Down Side Poem by Alfred Ramos

The Down Side

You can’t see that I’m so sad
In fact, bluer than blue
It’s amazing how I got to the other side of glad
That you wouldn’t believe its true
I went from the highest high
To the lowest low
One day I was soaring in the sky
The next I’m feeling a piercing arrow
I came crashing to the ground
What did I do to deserve this?
Now the pain is the only sound
Will I ever be able to reverse this?
If there is a need for me to apologize
I would rise to the occasion
It’s not hard to read my eyes
Though my smile has lost its location
Don’t know what I’ll become
Heart strings tight as a drum
Like a man who’s deaf and dumb
I can’t tell you where I’m coming from
But I know where I want to be
And it’s surely not a memory
Everyone gets dealt a hand
And to play it you must have a plan
And I didn't have any
But suggestions I heard plenty
