The Dragon Lesson Poem by Romella Kitchens

I purchased a cross stitch one year.
It was stamped monochromatic red.
A gigantic, fierce dragon opposed innocent Koi fish who had to overcome it.
Night after night, I have worked on it like the Koi fish work on getting past the dragon.
I refuse to stop but it still remains unfinished until I learn then apply that I must conquer or
finish the dragon first or along with all other areas. Then the rest will be freed, will not stand
subdued.
Even facing the dragon instead of avoiding him and working on other things will
provide much progress.
Stitch after stitch.
Confrontation after confrontation -- even if it is in a peaceful manner.
The dragons may be personal, familial.
The dragons may be societal.
But, always conquer your dragons first in life.
Always let your dragons know you see this gigantic thing which is taking up
much space in your life and you are not avoiding it.
You may like the Koi fish not fight it but get by it cleverly and precisely anyway.
Remember there is a long history of dragon 'fighting' and you are not the
only one.
And then, all else will be freed and fall into place even for others around you.
