The Dream Of Us Poem by Gopal Krishna Tripathi

The Dream Of Us

In my little camp, pretending to be asleep,
As I keep turning inside my bed
A dream enters my head deep;
Its you that I see,
In all the morning light
Having your breakfast
Poached egg with toasted bread
And a cup of English tea;
Those wide blue eyes,
Fresh perky lips, tanned cheeks
And hair flowing with the vibe;
The dream looks wonderful and so do you,
But I am jealous of the sun
That is shining on you.

Now I picture it again
I am not me and you are not you,
Its just us with me in the chair next to you;
Holding your foot While I rub your toes,
I try to make you laugh
And tell a silly joke;
You laugh a little, our hearts giggle;
we are not sure of what's next for us,
But the picture looks perfect
And so do us;
I am happy with the sun
That is shining on us.
