The Dreams We Dreamt Poem by Isaac Melchizedek

The Dreams We Dreamt

Rating: 5.0

We dreamt of another world
And slumber into the Pishon flow
We dine with the third God
And converse with eyed creatures
Tho' we'd spent six saturn runs
Searching orbs in garments of galaxies,
And inherit in our dream, a home
Promised by our ancient lords
We live in huts, here as strangers
And work for, but our daily span.
While we awaits the divine call.
The farmers speaks of it to trees
The market talkers to stalls
Everyone seems to await the time
When the bliss of earth shall cease
And usher in the heaven's doom

We awaits the unknown pleasures of tales
Which were told by our father's lord
To lull them into the aisle's web
And we, living in our father's yard
But long the lonesome pit
Where no blood shall run.
We love the perfect home
But hate the nature's choice
We dream of wings and ropes
And retire the good of legs
We dream of temple of golds
But desire not our father's shrine

Hence, when this dream shall end
And wake we beside our jealous Chi
By the rivers of Sango's love
Which call upon Olodumare.
I wonder what shall be done to us,
The modern vagabonds
But if the Hebrew shall save our fate
And give what we believed in faith
And 'gainst our gods vex.
He shall till all warfare follow
And ride on chariots to Meggido
And we shall dream our dreams again
And stay by the saviour's side
