The Drinking Mans Theme Poem by Clifton Tobin

The Drinking Mans Theme

I slept in the lawn last night
I open my eyes at dawn and behold the heaven above
with the sky so blue and the grass carpeted
the earth green beneath my shoe
my face I bath in sparkling trickling water
then I remember yes I remember yesterday
it was the day I decided to wash my sorrows away
with strong spirits beckoning
my soul come away come away.
