The Dunes Of Jupiter Beach Poem by Kay Bressner

The Dunes Of Jupiter Beach

Who will preserve the
fragile seagrass meadows

From destruction by fertilizer and
chemicals that block the sunlight

From careless boaters, greedy
constructions of mankind?

Where the magnificent green,
grand loggerhead sea turtles feed

Undisturbed; hatchlings emerge from nests,
and, in darkness, crawl to the ocean

While Bahama Nightshades sleep
in the coastal hammock.
