The Egotist, Me Poem by Alfred Ramos

The Egotist, Me

I just can’t comprehend
I’m not much into pretend
Why my ego spilled onto the floor
And why some people find me a bore
If I slay the evil dragon
Bring it home on my Radio Flyer wagon
I expect a royal cheer
A knight must wear his shiny armor
How else can he charm her
A poignant effort so austere
Over confidence I do not lack
From a pedestal I attack
A war of words have been won with less
On a score of one to ten
I’d score an eleven, then
Bring me your baby for me to bless
If a perfect score can be gotten
The more you know, the more I have forgotten
Of that I’m pretty sure
I may be a little pampered, a little coy
A flair with words for you to enjoy
But my intent to woo you is pure
So I end with this, prêt ell
When I encounter Satan
I’ll be very blatant
And let him know his real estate is a very hard sell
