He was an empty man, who did not care
And would show his feelings, outright rare
He was an empty man, at a quater to nine
Riding an elevator, with thoughts of a crime
He was an empty man, who went to see
The man who fired him, from his job to be
He was an empty man, empty with no doubt
That a man without a job, is a man without clout
He was there to get back, the job he never had
The job he was promised, by a company lad
How dare they promise, what they cannot keep?
Ruining a mans pride, by humbling at their feet
He tried to reason, with this individual
But got no where, with his pleading ritual
He could not take it, anymore
His bleading heart, was aching sore
So he decided to leave, taking his grieve
And coming back here, no more.
He walked out into a world of plenty...
Plenty of sarcasm, plenty of arrogance...
Plenty of corruption, plenty of ignorance.
Now, he's homeless, walking about
A man without a job, a man with no clout.
