The End Of Silence Poem by Paul Burt

The End Of Silence

The abyss is looking back at me as I stand at the edge of the world
My thoughts are racing through my mind like a raging stampede I can't seem to make it stop
The alure to take that final step just feels too easy it's almost like I want to
I'm the one nobody wants or so I believed That it has been this way
I close my eyes everything falls to silence
This is the end of everything

No!
Not again

Spent 15 years in the darkness
Too many cold days in the wastelands
What happened to never say never?

I've let the darkness win for far too long
It's destroyed me from the inside out and pushed away the things I once loved
Maybe it's time for a change
Rediscover the things I lost a long time ago

I'll continue to walk this long road until I reach the place where I can find happiness for myself again
