The Endless Peon Poem by Nabeela Black

The Endless Peon

I want to be silent this weekend.
I want not to harass any my friends.
Some suggest, 'why don't you get a dog or a cat? '
Allergies, darn allergies! So cats are definitely out……
Maybe back to raising poodles…or pit bulls that don't got no hair?
But NO! Then I'd have to stay home,
Cuz what places except parks let animals in?
Well, they let babies in don't they?
Babies that make mess after mess and often smell worse than any pet.
Makes no sense to me.
Ok, but let me ask your consideration few more minutes.
For one day no one will hear from me any more.
Maybe that will make them glad.
But I won't have to care if anyone is sad, mad, or glad.
Cuz missin me in any way only means
Rejoicing with the Lord is where I'll be!
And just think, one day, O believer
You who couldn't believe I'd ever go away.
One day we'll all be praising Him together - for eternity.
Ha ha hee hee ho ho - don't God got a sense of humor?
That ex-husband you hated, that mom who drove you up the wall,
That neighbor who woke you up every Saturday leaf blowing
And ME the peon, koeenahi, with endless email and phone calls…..
Yes, all these believers who showed such disunity. We'll all be together FOREVER.
Singing, praising and raising Hallelujah's thousand times
……more endless than this peon koeenahi could ever be!
We'll all be happy praising HIM, endlessly - AMEN!
