The Essence Of A Poem Poem by Nurul Hoque

The Essence Of A Poem

Listening to a poem
All the bones of your heart
Broke into pieces
And all the leaves fell one by one
Once you asked me,
Who do I love more,
You or poetry?
I listened to your question
And like an exiled king
Suddenly entering the abyss of the past
I contrived you in the form of poetry
I know and
Know the poets of the world since time immemorial
Love and poetry's conjugal loyality
I see in you my poetry, may be
Sometimes you are my adherence
The powerhouse of my existence
The anecdote I wrote to your resurrection
Instead of becoming fascinated hearing the poet's voice,
you were estranged and perturbed
Whenever I hear your sigh,
The spring of the blood-stained water of the Tigris and Euphrates flows in my heart
I loved you more than poetry
But today deserting my world
You flew away in search of another world.
