The Farewell Poem by Rijo Payyappilly

I saw a happy world around me
everyone sharing their dreams,
hoping for the best.
None of them were sad,
they all overwhelmed with joy.

It was farewell time,
and it was hard to smile.
I felt horrible because
my heart was bursting out with pain,
the pain of departure.

I wondered how they all can be happy
and as I watched them,
I came to realize the fact,
the fact that they are good actors.
They were sad,
they felt the same pain,
but they disguised well.

I gazed at them for a while,
I wondered,
why they want to hide their tears,
why making themselves a fake.

Its farewell time,
Its time to say 'bye'.
and they were happy!
