The Fate Poem by Njabulo Ndlovu

The Fate

Fate
Ooooh fate, you are so cruel to the weak,
Taking all like the wind does to the soil.
Giving life only to take it.
Is it amusing to you?
Do you find joy in our pain?
Tell me, I want to know, I need to know.

Ooooh fate,
Fate, your care is fake.
You act so innocent,
Yet you are so vile.
Many believe you are karma,
Yet I fail to see your harmony.

Oooh fate,
What have we done
To deserve such a harsh hand?
Your gaze lacks kindness,
Your touch lacks fairness.

Oooh fate,
Why do you destroy
What is not yours?
My hope lost to yours truly,
Will I ever get my happily?
Ooh fate,

You are what you were made to be,
You are blameless, like time, you are never-ending.
