The Father I Never Had Poem by Joseph Caraveo

The Father I Never Had

I wasn't there to see you born
You don't have my name
Your eyes are blue, mine are brown
Still I love you just the same
I stepped in when he stepped out
That poor little man
he sure missed out
I tell you I love you
If you only knew
I see your face
In all I do
Don't get me wrong
At times it was tough
Moms Boyfriend
'your not my Dad'
What ever it took
The Father I never had
I made so many mistakes
I didn't know what to do
Just don't give up
I never did
When it comes to you
I never quit
I see every rainbow
Every shooting star
I see everything I am
Looking into your heart
When I feel I've failed
and all alone
I close my eyes
Take pride in who you are
Every softball game, PTA,
Football game and cheer
Never did I miss a beat
You know I'm always here
Daddies little girl
Your all grown up
Do you know how much I love you
I love you............this much
