The Fear Of Being Yourself Poem by Daemon Hampshire

The Fear Of Being Yourself

Rating: 5.0

Tryna keep it to yourself
Takes great amount of stealth.
Thinking it might be for the best
Not realizing how much it's messed.
What happens if you show the world
The new you leaving behind the old.
You're just afraid to find out,
Prejudice, that's all it is about.

How far would you go
Pretending to be someone you don't even know.
It's time to be who you are,
The courage inside you is not that far
And then you'll find
Your peace of mind
Whatever it takes,
You gonna take it with grace.

Opening up to people,
Feeling like a cripple.
Not knowing how will they react,
Hoping it all remains intact.
Ignorance is spread all over the world,
People believe everything they're told
Behaving like a stupid mass,
We only act when it concerns us.
