The Feast Of The Exaltation Of The Holy Cross Poem by Dr John Celes

The Feast Of The Exaltation Of The Holy Cross

By death upon the Holy Cross,
Christ saved the world's sinners;
His resurrection on third day
Made Christians, clear winners.

The symbol denotes sanctity,
Performing miracles;
Christ's victory twin o'er death and sin -
The triumph of the Cross.

A single stake or double beams,
It represents our faith;
Adorning necks and cemeteries,
Church steeples, domes, spires.

Carry my cross, I will, I will;
Not by my will but divine Will;
The Holy Cross dispels darkness,
And repels all demons on prowl.

Cling to the cross whatev'r be loss;
Follow the Saviour Lord, your Boss;
Carry your cross, you have no choice
To Calvary, in Him rejoice.

Make sign of the cross and purify
Your mind and heart, spirit and soul;
Drive off the demons from your life;
Remind lord Christ's passion and role.

The cross is weapon of peace, love;
Symbol of sins' forgiveness best;
The cross is way to after-life,
And bestows eternal light-rest.

God chose the cross of shameful death,
Exalting it to salvation;
When Christ suffered and hung on cross,
And shed his precious drops of blood.

If not for cross, where is our faith?
If not for Christ, faith's meaningless;
If not for the Word, our faith's weak;
If not for cross, sinners are lost.

The cross that was accursed a death
Became a sign of blessing, grace;
The cross that consumed sinners' lives
Had saved the sinful human race.

Take up your cross and follow Christ;
Become worthy of Redeemer,
When you lose your life for His sake,
And find life everlastingly.

Upon the cross, mortify flesh;
Upon the cross, offer your sins;
Upon the cross, dump your burdens;
Upon the cross, find love, hope, joy.

Be selfless, go by divine Will;
Endear the cross, renounce the world;
The cross is shield against evils,
Bestowing power to spirit, heart.

The cross that swallowed human lives
Got glorified through death of Christ -
A sign of God's invitation
And way to way, truth, life, Father.

Honor the cross that Jesus bore;
Honor the wood that held Christ Lord;
Honor the cross that demons fear;
Honor the tree that blessed the world.
