The Final Battle Poem by Emillie DeVere

The Final Battle

Outside my window,
Rages a storm,
Deep down inside me,
The rain has ceased

The final battle decided
My heart has once again,
Come to stand victorious,
Over the reason, logic and sense

I have fought many battles,
I’ve slept sleepless nights,
I’ve attacked and defended,
I struggled to do what is right

I clouded my mind,
I wrestled with reasons,
So lost and confused,
I made a decision

I have chosen my road,
So now,
With the storm raging outside,
My heavy eyelids dropp down,
And I wander off to the land of Dreams…
