The First Day Of March Poem by Francis Duggan

The First Day Of March

The first day of March and of the southern Fall
In the Moyne Shire of Victoria it is not like Autumn at all
The weather temperatures well over thirty degrees
And warmth in the sunshine and warmth in the breeze
White butterflies flying around the sunlit bushes and trees
And the warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
The paddocks are looking so bare, brown and dry
And the sun is glowing warm in the clear and blue sky
It does seem that Global warming is out of control
And on the dry landscape is taking it's toll
The weather so warm for the time of year
That Climate Change is for real does seem obviously clear
For the first day of Autumn in the Moyne Shire a very warm day
And it does seem like more of the same on the way
