The Fisher Poem by Garrett Releford

The Fisher

Rating: 5.0

In summer or fall, to the water was called;
The fisher loved his strategies above all.
Casting and tying, he spent most of his time.
Unhooking fish, his hands covered in slime.
Spin baits, frogs, and soft plastics cast from shore.
Those hand-picked for the fish's allure.

Exhibiting calm and long-suffering,
his newest lure in the trees rustling,
Conceding to his fate and cutting the line,
Serves as an example for valuing your time,
If the burden of one thing impedes your designs
Cut ties, reflect, and reset your lines.

Even when unsuccessful in catching fish,
Being in nature satisfies a deeper wish.
Admiring God's creations firsthand,
Tressuring creatures, not living on land.
