The Five Elements - Fire

Asleep
Upon a hardwood floor
In a small room

A place to live
A life

As a boy
As a man

Setting this body
Upon the floor
To sleep
Again

Every night

Stripped of money
Stripped of time
Stripped of love

Banished to a tour
Of living hell

Tortured in my mind
Kissed by death
So many times

Stripped naked
Just meat
&
Bone
&
Wood

In the silence
Of the night
Left to morn

The death
Of dreams
Of friend

Betrayed by a kiss
That stole my life
Away from me

A trust
That existed
Only in my mind

Shut down
Exiled
Sleep

Hardness of wood
Of floor
Ache & Bruise
Frail
Skin and bone

Naked
Parched lips
Kissed dry

By denial

Of the lies
Of love

To sleep

Lips
Pressed together
To kiss death
On the cheek

In peace
I sleep

One kiss
I keep

To give

My last kiss
Belongs

To
The Lips

Of
Love
