The Forest Poem by Christon SykesSmith

The Forest

The forest I am trapped in consumes my sadness
The moonlight shines upon the darkness I am trapped in
The bare trees gather around me not letting me leave
Even though it takes my pain from me
It is unbelievably scary
But at the same time comforting
We need each other to survive
The forest and I
Together Are one and the same
We burn together in the dry hear that is life
We cry together in the soaking rain that is my pain
It leaves a stain on my soul that the strongest bleach cannot destroy
They play with the wooden toy like it is my heart
But then
It all tears apart
