The Freedom To Choose Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Freedom To Choose

early morning
one rubs his eyes
upon waking up
one goes to the
rest room for
the usual beginning
and then finally
looks at himself
in the mirror and
in there he sees
the wide ocean of
choices in his eyes.

he washes his fears
with the cold water
inside the cup of his
bare hands.

Now
is another day of
freedom.
