The Frozen Rose Poem by Lia Padena

The Frozen Rose

she had traveled in his soul
a love
who felt the glint of his gaze
over
the forest and the paths and the field
under the veins of winter
heavy veils
and over them
  Lightweight veils
as a hibernation of forms
filled with dreams
drowsiness
even the trees had the glued and dry eyelashes
she felt his steps
personal fingerprints
which he regarded with his love
his own astrological sun
happy
to penetrate into forms
becoming shadows and shine to the surface
this easy melting of snow
  by pressing the walk
his breath
circumscribed
  in the calming wind
the frozen rose was still there
and he gives it again
