The Ghost Poem by Ardis Blythe

The Ghost

fingers of the wind running through my hair
remind me I'm alone without a care
but for a moment I saw you standing there
with your arms reaching out for me

coyote's laugh has awakened me
I want to be like him, running free
now the only question left for me
is how do we reunite?

and I tell myself be strong
you go back where you belong
and I can carry on with my life

your shadow covers me
each and every night I see
The Ghost of you in my eyes

the sound of the darkness drowns out my thoughts
as time recalls a night I haven't forgot
trying to save a memory that I bought
the thief stole your life instead

had I not acted so foolishly
you would be alive instead of me
now the only question left for me
is how do we reunite?

and I tell myelf be strong
you go back where you belong
and I can carry on with my life

but your shadow covers me
each and every night I see
The Ghost of you in my eyes
