The Gift Of Love Poem by ANNE P LadeeAnne MURRAY

The Gift Of Love

I sit alone in the darkness with only my memories of you
But my thoughts alone cannot recover...
the sweet, remembered hours of the way we were
My feelings for you were immortal, for I loved you strong

What ended our splendid dream?
Once lovers, now strangers...
Was it something heard, or a sudden cry
That meekly and without a word came between us?

The bond, that's now forever broken
Strangely...
without any words being spoken
we slipped apart
You and I...
Gone
