The Girl Poem by tanesha davenport

The Girl

my face and body us a prize boys try to own
but no one knows the girl inside, the girl that once belonged
the girl that is now dead inside and walks the streets alone
the girl that once lived inside a heart but ranaway from home
'come back', shes says as she follows a dream
tryin to forget the past and distance memories
they'll never disappear because deep inside she dont want them to
she just want them to no longer be memories of things she use to do
she had a prince that loved her for her but lost him in a sea of lies
if only he would give her a chance to take away the goodbye
its over now but for some reason she cant except the truth
so all she'll ever be is a half of a heart that beats for only you
