The Girl Poem by Zea Pakula

The Girl

Why is this happening to her?
Her thoughts have only gotten worse.
It’s been 2 days since the event that has changed her whole way of thinking.
It’s true to her I guess,
No one is loyal.
She thinks no one wants her anymore.
She thinks no one cares.
She gets stared at for the cuts on her arms.
No one knows her pain inside but me,
I can see the pain in her eyes.
She’s crying out for help!
Where is the attention she needs?
The kind she always prays and pleads for?
She stops eating her food,
And makes herself throw up.
People just laugh and bully her,
But why? Don’t you care?
You’re watching someone’s life fade to death,
Don’t wait for her to be gone and look back in regret.
You didn’t listen and now she died.
She slit her wrists and wrote her last note saying,
“I needed help. But it never came. People just always played with my brain. Goodbye cruel world, my time for life is done. Do you wish you‘d helped me now? Too late the damage can’t be undone.”
A little help is what everyone needs,
Next time this happens will you listen to their plead?
